This is the band Sianvar, they consist of members of the bands, Dance Gavin Dance, A Lot Like Birds, Hail The Sun, and Stolas. They are the super band side project of Will Swan (Dance Gavin Dance), Donovan Melero (Hail The Sun), Sergio Medina (Stolas), Michael Littlefield (A Lot Like Birds), and Joseph Arrington (A Lot Like Birds). The reason I am choosing to share this twenty-four-odd minute full set video is because I love the fact that guys who have only worked together while on tour with each other can get together and create a band and project like they’ve been playing together for years. Their dynamic on stage is something else completely. Although the drummer and bassist are from Stolas, the feeling behind the music from all the actual members of the band is there. The dynamic of Sergio Medina and Donovan Melero on stage is almost electrifying. Their energy is unreal and they keep it up the whole set. They leave everything on stage (and in the crowd) with no stone unturned. They jump up and down, spin, and even crowd surf while playing, they are great together as the forefront of the band’s energy. As usual Will Swan is being his cool self just vibing out and jamming to his own complex playing in the corner. It’s as if he’s conducting the band while playing with them. Even the two substitute musicians from Stolas were in sync with each other for their brief time as Sianvar members. I honestly just love watching these guys reproduce what they made in the studio on stage, it’s like I’m watching a masterpiece being made in front of me. It’s a feeling like no other to watch your favorite members of some of your favorite bands work like this.
